A Tool For God’s Kingdom

“I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?” Jeremiah 32:27 (NIV)

I have had a full plate in the past few years, including multiple geographical household moves (all while working on a Master’s degree) and the loss of jobs due to lack of funding in the school systems for which I worked.  Add to that the death of my beloved father, stress in my marriage, and the wedding of two sons in two different states.  Did I forget to mention the birth of four grandsons and a couple of surgeries? At times, it felt to me like it was impossible to keep my head above water. I would ask God why so many things would happen to any one person so closely together, but in spite of my whining and crying, the curve balls kept on coming in my direction.

I have learned a lot from the stressful situations with which I’ve been faced. I have learned that the Lord does sustain us. He cares enough to see us through each and every situation that He allows for us to get into. I have also learned that each situation that God allows us to endure, however tough it feels at the time, will serve as a learning tool for us to use when we encounter someone walking in our same shoes up ahead.  We will be able to comfort others based on how we overcame our own troubles in God’s strength.

“Dear Lord, please forgive my weak faith. Please help me to see that I am stronger for someone else today because I allowed You to prune and mold me into the tool YOU desire for me to be.”

For His Glory,
