Our Inheritance

Young Woman Facing the Sky“Giving thanks unto the Father which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance and of the saints in light.” Colossians 1:12 (KJV)

Being adopted into God’s family, we will one day see Him face to face and partake of our inheritance. We are promised to reign with Jesus from mansions of glory. There will be no more sorrow, tears, fears, death, hunger, pain, nor suffering. We will be fellowshipping with God and believers forever. All that God has will be ours. “He that overcometh shall inherit all things, and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.” (Revelation 21:7)  We have so much to look forward to. We will have peace and joy that God gives us, but we don’t have to wait until we get to heaven to experience it. Remember Philippians 4:19 reminds us that God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. This too is our inheritance here on earth. We might not all be monetarily wealthy, but we are certainly spiritually wealthy. God has made us to be partakers of his inheritance. We must be thankful and mindful of our inheritance. When we think of the great wealth we have in Christ we will never feel poor or lacking. When was the last time we thanked God for our inheritance? When was the last time we rejoiced in our inheritance? We must not take it for granted. As we meditate on the inheritance God has given us, our hearts will leap with joy.

“Lord I want to take the time to thank You for my inheritance that I can both enjoy now and in the hereafter. Thank You for making us spiritually wealthy. Thank You that we are partakers of Your inheritance.”
