“A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance;” Ecclesiastes 3:4 (KJV)
Our life is made up of moments and each moment carries an emotion. I have looked back on pictures from the past year and they speak volumes about what was going on at that moment. Sometimes the best pictures that capture life are ones you don’t know have been taken; such as this one of my husband and I from a dear friend’s wedding. We have never danced in public, and I really don’t like my picture being taken. However, I cherish this picture because it captured a sweet, happy, and loving moment in our life.
Our church and several of my friends suffered losses of loved ones this past year. Some were after a long illness and others were completely unexpected. I know each one of them took time to look back and remember precious times with their loved ones through pictures and stories. Don’t wait to look back on memories, take time today to enjoy each one. Embrace the emotions that go with it because weeping can lead to laughter – mourning into a time to dance. When God is at the center of our lives each moment is precious, counted, and eternal.
“Father God, How amazing each moment and memory You have given us is. Help us to cherish each second of the day and to make the most of the time we are given to impact others for You.”
