Then Sings My Soul

cb devo nov 21“Where can I go from Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your presence? “ Psalm 139:7 (NIV)

Ever lose your keys? Seems like a common occurrence, especially when they lurk under all that stuff in our purse or better yet still in the car. Ever misplace your thoughts? A natural occurrence as we age. In our busy lifestyles of multi-tasking, we wouldn’t think twice about what we planned to say. Ever walked with one who can’t remember where they live or finish their own sentences? It’s not common or natural, but often life steals away memories leaving a person fearful or grasping to complete a conversation. While our body and mind may fade, you can’t quiet the worship that dwells within our soul. I witnessed such a blessing the other day. A beautiful voice filled the air, words flowing freely and hands raised mesmerized by her Savior’s love – you could see it in her eyes and aging face. Though at other times distant and unconnected, her soul was still in perfect union with her Creator and dearest friend. I’ve heard of that incredible joy before when a young girl in a coma uttered God’s words while her body remained lifeless and disconnected. She may not have known who she was or how to move her body, but her soul worshipped God in spite of her earthly limitations. Our spirits are knit with His and nothing can steal away the eternal memory of His presence. So though we watch with tendered hearts aching for the return of what they once knew – He, our God, smiles in wonder as they worship Him from the heart.

“Father You now every thought, every word that utters from our lips. Help us to never forget that Your
presence is always with us.”

For His Glory
