“The day is yours, and yours also the night; you established the sun and moon. It was you who set all the boundaries of the earth; you made both summer and winter.” Psalm 74:16-17 (NIV)
I love going to the beach and watching the waves. It fascinates me how the water only goes so far. One of many details God took care of when He created the earth. The only time when the water goes further is during a major storm or disturbance underwater. Even then God is in control.
Our lives have the same built in boundaries from the beginning with common sense. Later on as Christians, we have the Holy Spirit that gives us additional boundaries. At times we cross those boundaries when there are storms in our lives or we go against common sense and God to exercise our free will. Even then God is in control.
Just as the waves are controlled through the moon and gravitational elements we can’t even begin to comprehend, God can help us stay in control. Through daily time in His word, prayer, and listening to the Holy Spirit we too can stay in sync with God’s boundaries.
“Dear Lord, You’ve given us everything we need to live an abundant life. Help us to not overlook the boundaries You put in place to guide us towards Your blessings.”
