“But I say, walk by the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:16 & 22

I have served as a Bible study table leader for over 3 years.  We meet on Tuesday evenings.  One of the first things I learned in our leadership meeting was to “look out for things the adversary might try to throw your way on Tuesdays.”  Often times we even discuss some of those things we know the enemy sends our way on a Tuesday. And kidding around we may say, “after all it’s Tuesday, so we can expect it.” We have come to realize that Satan will try anything and use anyone to throw us off course, to try to make us ineffective.

For me it seemed like Tuesday after Tuesday my husband and I would have moments of “intense fellowship.” It had even gotten to the point, that I would say, ok honey, “It’s Tuesday”, and we’d just smile.   We realized what the enemy was trying to do.  Other times it would be something with my kids or something at work.  But it seemed like every Tuesday, it was something.  For you it could be another day, the kids, the car, co-workers, just some person, place, or thing. And the enemy tries to creep in to do what he does best, steal, kill, and destroy. Those moments when you are on a “spiritual high” after attending a study or God revealing something to you that He wants you to do, ministering, or sharing the gospel, the list can go on.

Most recently, my husband and I found ourselves yet having another not so great Tuesday morning, until I mentioned, “It’s Tuesday.”  We just smiled, and shook our heads.  I left for work and he called me and said, sweetheart, “Let’s Make Every Day Tuesday.”

“Father, help us to walk by the spirit and not fulfill the lusts of the flesh, not just on Monday, not just on Tuesday, but every day of our life.  Let us honor you with our words and with our actions.  And when we do sin, and we will, thank you for forgiving us and giving us one more chance to get it right.”
