“Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord!’ Psalm 150:6 (KJV)
Ever have a bad day? Maybe yours is just starting out and it’s already not looking so good. Are you thinking if I just had more time or a smoother start to the day, I would‘t be so stressed? Yet what we really need is to sense the presence of God in our lives.
The book of Acts tells the story of two guys who were having a bad day. Paul and Silas (Acts 16) had been thrown into prison for sharing Christ, but instead of complaining they were praising! As they sang, they ushered in the presence of God into that cold and miserable place. God’s power shook the foundation of the prison and all the cell doors flew open. The jailor runs in and thinking all the prisoners had escaped considers taking his own life. Immediately, Paul cries out to the jailer letting him know no one tried to leave! The jailor falls at Paul’s feet trembling and asks what must I do to be saved. Paul and Silas turned a bad situation into something amazing. How? By giving God the praise He so greatly deserves. So if we’re having a rough day, let’s take some time to praise the Lord for all He has done. Make a list, jump up and down, sing and shout or simply close your eyes and say thanks. It doesn’t matter how -just praise Him. It’s amazing how fast our day will turn around when we invite God to help us face life’s challenges together through praise.
“Lord help us to honor and praise You with all of our hearts. We can trust You to be with us in all our trials, so we offer You our praise for who You are and all that You do.”

I like the above statement that you made. Instead of using the word struggle, you used the word challenges. When we can look at life with it’s challenges we can praise the Lord and be victorious. When we look at every trial as a struggle we can get into a defeated mode. If we understand that we grow through trials we see trials as challenges rather than struggles and can then praise the Lord for them. When we practice the presence of God daily in our lives, praising God will become a habit. Thank you Anice for a great devotional. Have a blessed day. Linda Reyes Shepherd
